Job Description

A leading publisher is seeking a Book Designer to support their creative team. This temporary role is located in New York City, with onsite work Monday–Thursday and remote Fridays optional. Candidates should have at least 3 years of book design experience, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and strong typography and layout skills.

Book Designer Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine layouts for hardcover and paperback books, ensuring design consistency.
• Make corrections to reprints and prepare mechanical files for production.
• Present design concepts and revisions to art directors and editors for feedback.
• Collaborate with team members and external departments to meet project deadlines.
• Support the design team with various tasks related to book development and production.

Book Designer Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional book design experience.
• Proven talent in creating innovative book layouts, typography, and use of color.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Familiarity with print production processes.
